A hymn for the start of Lent by George Hunt Smyttan (1822 – 1870) set to ‘Aus Der Tiefe’, otherwise known as ‘Heinlein’ published in 1676 and attributed to the early Baroque composer Martin Herbst (1654-1681). Performed by Richard M.S. Irwin from album ‘Classic Hymns for Lent and Passiontide’.
