A spectacular hymn by American hymnist Fanny Jane Crosby (1820 – 1915), set to music by William Howard Doane (1832 – 1916). Arranged and performed with a descant for two trumpets in the last verse by Richard M.S. Irwin. Part of his ‘Classic Hymns For Lent And Passiontide’ album.

A medieval hymn written by Thomas à Kempis (1379 – 1471) adapted by Benjamin Webb (1819 – 1885) set to the Tune ‘Eisenach’ by Johann Hermann Schein (1586 – 1630) harmonised by Jogann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750). Played by Richard M.S. Irwin for his album Classic Hymns For Lent And Passiontide.
